Tuberculosis is still one of the major health threats, not just in the Philippines but more so, globally. In the municipality, Tuberculosis is the 10th Leading Cause of Mortality last 2021. Since TB is a treatable and curable disease, early and proper detection is the key to avoid untimely deaths. As such, the Municipal Health Office in partnership with the Provincial Health Office and Provincial DOH Office, and with the very active support of Mayor Gary Fuentes, worked towards the conduct of this activity. The following topics were discussed:

  1. Overview and Basic Facts of TB by Sir Rodnie Gonzales, DMO III
  2. TB Screening by Ma’am Girlie Rubias, RMT, PHO
  3. Diagnosis of TB Disease by Dr. Sarah Marie Huyong, MHO
  4. Treatment of Drug-Susceptible TB by Ma’am Lourdes Cielo Tabang, PHN
  5. Treatment of Drug-Resistant TB by Ma’am Angecelle Yambao, RMT
  6. TB Prevention by Sir Gerald Urquiola, ITIS Data Officer, PHO
